About Us

Latter Rain was founded in 1984 by Paul Keogh, a structural drafter who foresaw the looming digital revolution. Being an early adopter, in 1986 he moved his already established drafting bureau with 5 draftsmen into the AutoCAD world.

In the following decade, the entire industry retrained from the drawing board to CAD. Paul saw the great need for high quality training and established CADMEN in 1988, which grew to be become one of Australia’s largest private AutoCAD training centres.

One of his great achievements during the 90s’ was the creation of the world-leading CAD package, DRC Concrete, the Structural equivalent of ‘Smart Architect’ by DRC Auto.

Whilst being on the forefront of the CAD revolution, we remained true to our core business and serviced the drawing needs of over 30 consulting engineering firms. From early on, detailing bridges became more and more our focus and we now fully specialize in infrastructure. Paul himself has now detailed or modelled 100’s of bridges and is well established as a very sort-after senior bridge drafter.

Being true to our natural hunger to be at the forefront of the rapidly changing and expanding digital world, we now have over 10 years’ experience of specializing in 3D modelling, digital visualization and individualized BIM solutions for government and industry.

We live in an age where responsibility, experience and technical expertise are rare commodities, and rarer still if they exist together. We offer a quality product, work to budgets, deadlines and client standards. Our goal is to establish long term relationships with highly professional firms that appreciate what we offer. We are unique in a very specialist industry.

We quote lump sum where scope is defined, price per drawing when scope is varied or hourly rates when required. Because of our experience, we save you money by minimizing your engineering input on most typical bridges and take responsibility as lead drafters should. We carry our own PI insurance, use enhanced software and all our workstations are high performance with most using 24Gb graphics cards running 3×30” screens or greater. We push these to their limits.
